The Emperors New Clothes
Written by Mum

Once, two traveling tailors swindled an entire country. Seems the Emperor of that kingdom had a famed addiction for beautiful and expensive clothes, so the two tailors offered to make him royal clothes which would not only be extremely gorgeous, but unique in that they would be invisible to anyone who was stupid or unfit for his post. The emperor became attracted to the purported merits of such fantastic clothes and readily employed the swindler tailors.

They asked for large quantities of valuable silk and gold to make the cloth from; at night they secreted those goods away to their families. When anyone came to check on their work, the tailors pretended to be actively weaving and sewing the wondrous cloth, and they always described the clothes in glowing detail. Everyone who came to see the clothes factually saw nothing at all, yet they each pretended they could - so that no one would accuse them of being stupid or unfit for their posts. Even the Emperor himself became a party to the mass deception.

One day, the emperor went on procession to show off his famous clothes. As he walked proudly along, all the people spoke among themselves that the Emperor’s new clothes were the most beautiful and wonderful that they had ever seen. Suddenly, a little child blurted out, ‘Mother, why is the emperor naked?"

By their nature, crooked people claim that what is good is bad and what is bad is good. Whereas simple people know the truth and try to lead their lives by it. Seems like crooked people are running much of the world’s countries and their media. They are proclaiming that Fiji’s clean-up campaign is reprehensible - they won’t admit that the general election was rigged by Qarase’s gang, which is why, despite their repeated clichés about ‘legally-elected democracy’ we cannot ‘revert’ to what never existed. Fiji is luckier than USA. We have a strong, Godly, pro-Fiji force to rectify our bogus government, USA doesn’t.1

Despite world sanctions, Fiji is luckier than Iraq. Monday, November 27th, 2006 marked the day that USA had been in Iraq longer than they were in all of World War II - over 3½ years. 655,000 Iraqis are now dead as a result of USA invasion.2

What the media refers to as democracy should be renamed ‘demon crazy’. “The truth is that voters are powerless. The rich  and mighty take care of their own. Malfeasance carries little risk and rarely any sanction. Western democracies are ossified bastions of self-perpetuating interest groups aided and abetted and legitimized by the ritualized spectacle that we call "elections".3

We in Fiji feel safer under the military code of ethics: ‘sacrifice your life to save another’ than we do under political manipulators. Rent and watch the movie The Last Samurai to get a clear comparison between spiritual warriors and selfish, greedy, corrupt politicians who feel entitled to tax common laborers working for 10 dollars a day into paying 15% sales tax (VAT) on everyday items while budgeting one million dollars for construction of a mansion for Qarase.

Quote Of The Day

You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
