2006 Fiji Elections Rigged By SDL? - The Video
Written by FijiBuzz Admin

Were the 2006 Elections Rigged? Fiji Buzz has obtained a copy of the DVD released by the military that seems to record a conversation between Australian Conman Peter Foster and The Chairman of the SDL Candidate Selection and Strategy Committee, Navitalai Naisoro.

The second video is identical to the first one, however it is encoded in the windows media format (wmv) for those visitors who do not have the flash plugin installed. It may also load faster.

The video is a bit disappointing. All it proves is that someone, presumably Foster, has a conversation in a pub, with Navi Naisoro about vote rigging and in that converstion Navi said he knew that it was going on an election time.

I would hope that something a bit stronger than this exists otherwise the allegations of vote rigging wont wash.

There are things that we see in life that are, as John Cleese once said, "The bleeding obvious". Here we have Mr Foster (perhaps) discussinh an issue with Navitalai Naisoro. It certainly sounds more like an interview, than a conversation. This being so, it means there is an AGENDA that Mr Foster has which he has not declared in any form.
It's reasonable to think that Mr Foster, who shows his complete ignorance on common matters and his disrespect of Fiji culture, set this up in order to preserve himself...KNOWING he himself was breaking the law (in some form with other activities) and needed a security blanket.
Mr Foster was not asked to do this video or recording. He was not working with the military (for if he was the video would have surfaced long ago...but remember that Mr Foster is facing some serious issues now).
Navitalai Naisoro has nothing to fear except ridicule that he may have been caught saying things that are fairly common place. He (Navitalai Naisoro) cannot be said to have perpertrated anything wrong.
I personally want to believe in vote rigging in Fiji to help me accept the coup. But as Wendell said before me, there is nothing here to worry anyone.
Except Mr Foster......what else have you done in Fiji and how many other people have you hurt in your escapades??

Mr. Lockington it matters not who the other person is, or even if it was all staged. The point is that the Chairman of the SDL CANDIDATE SELECTION COMMITTEE and also chairman of the SDL STRATEGY COMMITTEE is admitting, almost boasting, that the 2006 elections was rigged.

Two scenarios present themselves:
1.) He is telling the truth. Enough Said!
2.) He is lying, perhaps to try and impress Foster. (the ability to con a country via vote rigging would certainly impress the world renowned con-man).

Regardless of which scenario is true, it makes one wonder about the quality of candidates Naisoro chose to represent the SDL and who became our government. Birds of a feather flock together they say.

One just wonders how much reliance they should place on something churned out by a person of questionable motives like Foster. Let us hope that the military has more better evidence that this!

What is obvious but needs mentioning is that there is no perfect society hence congregation, party ,person. However in our yearning to be perfect,we tend to measure goodness with the degree of detachment from the perception of perfection .Deceit and desperation tend to creep in to somehow complete an equation(the means justifies the end)
I am a fan of Qarase. The politics he used to put it bluntly is recycled politics of old (post indepedence). Nothing new .They (the old politics) had the pulse of ethnic Fijians on their fingertips whilst articulating a balancing act to accommodate other races. At times they are seen to compromise the ethnic Fijians allowing them to miss a bit,(Monasavu deal)to sustain the act.The Fijian institution in the Great Council of Chiefs was elevated to play a dominant role in a contemporary problem for Fiji( Rabuka's trifectar,Military ,coup 1 and 2 )Qarase had the same vision for he was a student of the old politics. He was placed in the the FDB by the fraternity and he excelled, pai kole did he excell. He was given the opportunity to test drive the wheels of government and he excelled', again another ,pai kole did he excell.and then BHAM.
Those who serenaded the 12/5 event were encouraged and those that were in opposition were forced to dance (wesi, wau ,taubale.you name it)the footy field and the highway and the the cricket pitch on their belly.
I am patiently awaiting evidence to justify Voreqe's action.I had no problem discarding evidence produced by Foster. No doubletake whatsoever.Nema Problemo.I still hold The Great council of Chiefs in high esteem as all Fijians should.I was literary shocked by the attitude of Neumi Leweni and Voreqe in the way they attempted to decimate this august body that im wondering; is this the contemporary Fiji ?,that they have shown an accellerated decline in values ,culture and customs to bring about this action and again I say to attempt to belittle this great institution.
Voreqe has promised to accert democracy in Fiji in two years. My take is this;Qarase is on the frindges awaiting to rebound. If no constructive evidence comes to light and Qarase is not incarserated his pary can pick up from where he left off and take the election again .AND THAN WHAT

Vuakatagane's views on GCC reflects the sad state of myopia in Fiji circles; the same type of entitlement attitude which glosses over the inferiority complex derived from these cultural institutions like GCC.

Vuakatagane's example of Monasavu, does not square with the facts that GCC, had virtually ignored this problem from Day 1.

Vuakatagane had also failed to address similar cases of land abuse, like Suvavou's High Court case( which the ruling is pending) or the Yaqara native land; which was converted to freehold status under Qarase's Government. Why did the GCC not address these native issues, if they really speak for all Fijians?
The inconvenient truth is that, GCC only speaks for themselves. Nor can the GCC's remarks supercede the democratic consent of the Taukei.

The world now knows of the Fijian Holdings and the wilfully breech of conflict of interest ethical boundaries; used to enrich a certain segment of Fijian elites. Should people disregard, reports that the 2000 coup was planned within the board room of Fijian Holdings? How about the 20 million grant to GCC, that was mysteriously converted to a grant?

All things considered, Fiji is in much better hands.

Regardless of Vuakatagane's attachment to Qarase, the nation of Fiji needs to move forward, as well as upward and onward.

What weware watching is an edited version of the recording. An edited tape means things can be re-arranged to suit the editor or producer. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to figure this scam. Nothing much to see here folks accept the red wine talking. Anyway, Foster seems to know more then Navi about the so called "vote rigging". If he did, why bother with the "covert recordings"? He should do his own recording and reveal all to the military. This evidence has been tampered with so we must all look forward to more evidence from the military. We were told by FB it more would come 3 days after the realease of the tape. That was two weeks ago and we can't even find Mr. Foster!

The issues on native corncerns and your accusations my dear Le Mode Fiji to be addressed by proper judiciary.

The Great Council of Chiefs demarcation is entrenched in the constitution and it is difficult to find overnight solutions for most of the problem that is brought to them.It was established to construct links and platform for dialogue .

As for Fiji moving forward smilies/grin.gifesperate people use desperate tactics to justify themselves(Foster saga). To move forward has to be for the people by the people.

Oh by the way; keep an eye on MC. I. Minister for sugar and union boss.huh.and the trumpet his blowing needs to be cleaned. Also Ganilau for PM.Voreqe is going to drum up a story of being overworked and slide G in

Sadly, it was this judiciary( now removed) who turn a blind eye to injustice. Justice Daniel Fatiaki, immorally condoned the actions of the 2000 coup.

Its midday now for Voreqe and yet its only a couple of weeks. There's bad vibes around that something is about to explode. For Fiji's sake I hope it can minimise loss of life.We can only wait and see.

Peters is bang on the mark about the circus thats going on in Fiji now.

Where in the world would a murderer be allowed bail? Only in Fiji and whilst your
brother in law is the circus master .

Fataiaki was not removed because of 2000;This is the same picture this bullcrap 5/8th artist Voreqe has been painting all along, and its not going to be completed.

He is in self denial that he is as much a part of the bunch of murderers, perverts(Laisa's,statement)and corrupt(Forster/Vanuatu) people in his unit.Pita Driti is such a hero in the way he treated those gals and young men on 12/24/06.

Voreqe lives in Fear and and Hughes was right about self preservation.

I guess the next step for him (Voreqe)is to utilise families of his intern government to dismantle the legal infrastructre including the FLS.

Well, its begining to come apart.Intern AG is about to throw in the towel. One more Naidu type of scene than he will pack and walk.Dont be surprised that whats happening at qeb is not going to stop.

The footage was set up by none other than the new man beside Frank as his media advisor - Richard Broadbridge!

Richard Broadbridge who was sacked/fired from Fiji TV years ago has also been conveniently appointed as Chairman of Fiji Audio Visual Commission.

So, the Clean Up Campaign is turning out to be a favour for favour by Frank and his cronies.

Your days are numbered.
